DEATH OF AUTOTUNE TRAILER BY JAYZ
MY Woman of the Week "Lauren Luna"

Ok so the Woman of the Week is starting to blow up, and since I started to do it Columbus, Ohio style it has been getting MAD LOVE !!!! Now enter Lauren Luna she is smart, pretty, funny, nice, and a little off the chain at times ( wait until you read the interview) but she is doing her damn thang in Columbus, Ohio so if you didn't know asked somebody QUICK please!!!!!!

1. Tell my blogger family what is www.artistaluna.com?
That's my website. Its like my online infomercial.  There you can find information about my past exhibits, upcoming events, view samples of my paintings,  ways to contact me for custom orders, and see just how wonderful I am.

2. What is your personality?
My personality is over the top! LOL  I like to be the center of attention but when I get it, I get shy! It's my duel personality I guess of being on the cancer/leo cusp.  Cancers shy out of the lime light, take care of home, very guarded,  very sensitive and motherly, while that is very much me, my leo side comes out because I like the limelight, I want to be seen and heard.  I'm generous and warmharted.  Creative and enthuastic but also bossy.  I speak my mind and have a foul mouth and sometimes it gets me into trouble.  But you never have to worry about me lying.

3. Give me three words that describe you best as a artist?
 Talented, diverse, and imaginative

4.If you ruled the world how different would it be and why?
If I ruled the world, the world would be different because there wouldnt be so much hate.  In all senses of the word.  Jealousy, wouldn't exist, because that's just a form of hate.  Racism wouldn't exist, again because that's another form of hate.  People would try to actually help each other as opposed to trying to bring each other down.

5. How many comments do you think you can pull off in week one? Hope the answer is 50:)
Well I have over 450 facebook friends, so lets see if I can get all of them to leave a comment!

6.  Your shoes are hand made works of art that take some time doing, what frame of mind are you in when doing the shoes for people and what come into play?
I work way into the wee hours of the morning sometimes, and alot of times I'm just thinking about getting the next pair done.  I love painting, once I've already got the design concept down, it's just about the excution.  Most times when I working on a pair I'm calling people to keep me company.  The creative side of your brain is different from your verbal, so I prefer to talk to someone while I'm working.  I get bored sitting for hours and hours with noone to talk to. When someone calls me for a design I will collaborate with them until we are both on the same page.  Sometimes people don't know what they want, so that's when I start shooting ideas at them.

7. In 3 years MS. LUNA be doing?
Ms. Luna will be represented by a major shoe company who mass produces her shoes.  And having private viewings for handpainted shoes will go for millions of dollars.

8. How did you feel when you were picked to be the WOMAN OF THE WEEK? And have you looked at past WOTW interviews?  I was shocked.  I have looked at the past interviews and since the past two were models I assumed that this was only for models.  So I'm happy that I was picked to be WOTW, because it shows that my hard work is paying off and I'm getting noticed.

9. If you could tell one artistic something that you wish somebody told you what would it be and why?  Something I wish I was told in college when I was an art major would have been, that its hard to break into the business.  I've been about art since I was a very small child.  It's all I've ever wanted to do.  I watched the state of art go from canvases to computers and I was not equiped to handle that change.  To this day I will pass a graphic order off to someone because that is not my forte.  I'm computer illiterate when it comes to designing.  Hand me a paint brush and I'll make magic. However because of this I limited my marketablity and avenue of where I could find work.  Showing in galleries is not as profitable as it may have once been.  The key is, is to find your nitche and PUSH IT!!!!!

10. Finish this sentence for me LAUREN LUNA is ....................!!!!!
THE SHIT!!!!

11. What projects do you have coming up within the next couple weeks?
My ad campain is about to launch via HiPolicy Magazine.  That should be out at the end of this month.  I am preparing for my next round of ad photoshoots, as well as a JWORK fashion show I was invited to be a part of in the fall.  I am also preparing to show my paintings in a charity art function also in the fall.  Also Who's Who in Black Columbus, which I will be in should be coming out late summer, early fall.

12. What is the key to being a great artist in your mind? Dedication and willingness to adapt.  I think that maybe the key to anyone success.  If one remains rigid and unchangeable, the world keeps changing, and that person will just be left with what they know never learning more, never expanding, stagnate.  Whereas if one should learn to adapt to new situations, gain insite, there is no choice but to profit from them.

13. How was it to be interview by JWORK LIMITED?
Fucking fabulous!
P.E.A.C.E,
Lauren Luna

*Yesterday was a good day there were a couple things that happened that effected my life!!! One the Los Angles Lakers won then NBA Championship, Kobe Bryant played a great game and his team took on his passion, pain, and hungry to pull a great win out on Orlando Magic's home floor! Kobe displayed great leadership, I watched as Kobe got hurt in the second quarter and probably could have set out for the rest of the game knowing there was a 3 to 1 lead!!Not only did I watch a good game, but I saw someone being a great leader, I saw someone who wanted it more they every player and coach out on the court yesterday, the look he had in his eyes, no fear, no pain, just one goal make it happened PERIOD! Yesterday I expressed myself to Team Jwork.......I expressed the Pain&Hungry to get to the top of the Clothing World that I have ..........I believe myself and my Team Jwork...I hope they were listening !!!!

My Woman of the Week " LUDIE SENATUS "

Ok so people been asking about the new WOTW!! Well here she is Ludie Senatus is a model, business woman, and a very good friend of Jwork Limited!!! She is a triple threat and here is what she had to say as the "WOTW" leave comments No hate mail!!!!

1. Where are you from? What is your nationality?
I like to say that I am from many places. I am Haitian-American. I was born in Miami, FL. I was partially raised in Haiti. I lived there for about 10 years, spending all of my adolescent life there.

2. How long have been modeling? And where do see yourself going in this model industry within the next year or two?
I have been modeling on and off for about 8 years. The sky is the limit. I see myself doing more fashion editorial and high fashion runway work in the west coast, mid-west, south and international market. I am actively seeking to work for a fashion house. Look for me!

3. Ludie your a real business woman!! Is it hard being a business woman in Columbus, Ohio? And why?
Thank you! It is not easy to be in business anywhere. Columbus,OH is considered to be one of the best places to be an entrepreneur. This city is very resourceful. I seek out and take advantage of some of the business resources that are offered. NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK!!! I believe in networking.
The key is to stay relevant, take advantage of resources and continuously preparing for your next big opportunity.

4. You have been to Paris? Tell me about that? And where are you going next?
Yes, I went to Paris for a fashion show January of this year. It was a fantastic way to start my year. It really inspired me. It is so beautiful there. Thousands of years of history and art make for fabulous people...lol. The people there are all fashion forward. I have to say this...I saw NO overweight people in Paris. Everyone (including the kids) dressed like grown ups, chique from the time they woke up, until the time they went to sleep. Akira Takashi was in the group that I went with. We had a blast. Speaking french really helped. Everyone should go at some point. I plan to go back to Europe spring of next year, maybe sooner. I'll be in the islands this fall.

5. Give our readers 3 words that describe you best as a person and a business woman? Total of 6!!!!!
Confident, Determined, Resilient, Persistent, Action-oriented, Integrity

6. How tall are you really Ludie w/o heels?
I stand 5'11" without heels. (6'2 in heels...lol). I'm usually the tallest woman in the room. And yes, I stay in heels.

7. If you could change one thing about fashion what would it be and why?
Fashion, by definition is what ever style the majority is wearing at a particular time. I'm an individual and I'm not very "trendy." I wear what I want, when I want. I like to mix it up...custom, retro, urban, high fashion, textures, etc. I'd like to see more individuality in the way that clothes are worn. Get out of the box, folks.

8. The pictures from your last shoot (unless you had another one Damn slow down lol) you rocking the JWORK LIMITED.....Money,Cash, Clothes shirt in a very powerful picture!!!! How do you feel about JWORK and the Movement?
lol...You know I gotta stay busy. I told you I have to rep JWORK like a mascot. You will see me at every JWORK function. I met Darrell Hunter at a networking event and was later casted as a model for several designers, including JWORK, in the 2008 C.O. Tour. I've been following JWORK Limited for about a year now. I love the story behind the fashion. JWORK is taking the city and soon the world by a storm. JWORK is becoming the next subculture.
To me the five star lifestyle means living the American dream.
Life should be free, fun and conscious this is transferred into the aesthetics of the cloths. Justified Wealth OReal Kings (and Kweens...) This is what real people want.

9. What does life mean to you?
Life is growing, learning who you are as an individual in the "big picture" and living up to YOUR full potential.

10. Are you a female that demands respect?
I am a female that is respected. I have high self esteem. I love me some Ludie. I am proud of who I am, where I come from and my achievements. I respect others, earning respect. And yes, I demand respect if someone feels any different.

11.Do you know that you're one of the darkest females to ever be the woman of the week Ludie (You're that deal!)?
Thank you, I did not know that I was the first burst of dark chocolate drop to be your woman of the week. They've been calling me Chocolate Thunda, since last year's C.O. Tour fashion showcase. I embrace and love my darkness. I even tan. Dark is beautiful. Beauty is beauty. I don't hate on the light-skinned divas. Watch out! I'm in demand...lol.

12. Explain your fashion sense to the readers of this interview? On a fashion scale you push the limit's sometimes in shows!! Is it fair to say your Fashion IQ id above 10?
As it relates to fashion shows, I think that fashion should have no limits. On the runway, it should be dynamic and edgy. The point is to create a buzz and set trends. You have to say that I brought the big hair, retro look back in a big way since the C.O. Tour. I didn't do the fro first, but no one did it like I did it, bigger.
I think that the fact that I am multi-cultural really influences my fashion
aesthetic . As I said before, I wear what I want, when I want, how I want. I don't put myself in a box of current trends. I am different so I don't have to try. That is the key.

13. Dream Job?
Working for Ludie. Period.

THE GOLDEN AGE 1981-1985
Enter the 1980s and with it, the height of the portable stereo craze-- walkmans were worn on the hip and boomboxes like these were held on the shoulder or positioned on a street corner for an impromptu breakdancing session. In fact, the terms "boomboxes" and ghetto blasters" were started during this period to describe the "noise" that emanated from portable stereo cassette recorders, though the sound quality on some rivalled that of home stereo systems. You'll see that as the decade progressed, these silver and chrome-laden beasts grew in size and in functionality. They became a status symbol of urban culture--the bigger, the more buttons and lights, the better. Browse on and enjoy our pictoral history of these gems during the height of their popularity.

Can you identify this one? Featured in the 1984 movie Breakin'. Ghetto blasters like this one were found on city streets throughout the country in the mid-80s. This is probably a Taiwanese or Chinese no-name brand, but we are intrigued by the apparent second cassette located above the primary one.

Whoa, Sean in Canada has the same boombox as the one featured above! His is a Clairtone, and was distributed throughout Canada in the mid-80s. This beast is protected by a promximity sensor (ALARM!) which lets out a deafening siren when someone walks near it. Good luck trying to sneak off with this one. Weighing in at a whopping 20 pounds and measuring 2 1/2 feet in length, this very well may define the blaster in ghetto blaster. Sean is desperately seeking a cassette door for his, so if you've got info, send us message! Thanks Sean!!

Imagine our surprise when we spotted this one at a local flea market for $30. This exotic-looking Grundig featured a myriad of functions including SW/AM/FM/LW reception, a hideaway telescopic antenna, presets, variable stereo knob (from 0 to "super"), LCD clock and alarm--all in that sleak euro chassis. We're guessing this was released sometime in 1982.

This RX-5050 was Panasonic's crown jewel boombox in 1983. Sound quality was incredible, utilizing the company's patented "Ambience" control. The system and a red & green LED meter and a five-band graphic equalizer.

This Sanyo MX650 is a veritable force in loudness. We sure wouldn't want to bump into this intimidating machine in a dark alley. The cassette drive position is pretty cool, though.

Is this old broken Emerson worth the effort of repairing? Jay and Paul assess the damage in this shot and make that determination.

Panasonic's RX-5500, a fine example of the classic '80s boombox. This model was actually released in 1981. Other manufacturers imitated designs like this one for years after. Nice twin LED meters...

Looks like a wall, doesn't it? Powered by 8 DD batteries, this was GE's flagship ghetto blaster in 1983. It offered "feather touch" controls, the MLS music search system, stereo & loudness switches, balance, bass and treble control.

The Fat Boys spotted with a not-so-fat boombox in the 1984 film Krush Groove. A scene like this may be labelled stereotypical, but was nonetheless commonplace in New York City back in the mid-80s. Click here for a close-up of the boombox.

Unsure on the model number of this ghetto blaster. We do know this JVC was released sometime in 1985. Notice multiple component facade--this trend began in mid-80s and continued into later years. We guess the speakers are detachable, making this an appropriate home stereo for the apartment dweller or college student. update: Hemlyn from the UK writes, "Mine is model JVC PC-200W, and though it doesn’t look exactly the same (mine has less black and more silver on the front) all the functions are exactly the same and in the same places. In daily use here in northern England, though it gracefully retired from recording cassettes a few years ago (ie this function no longer works!) Plays ‘em fine tho.’ Still has a very, very clear stereo sound, will go quite loud, and will boom very satisfyingly if required. Quite heavy, esp. with batteries installed, but who cares? Sling out that pathetic walkman, sling your blaster on a guitar strap and let the neighbourhood know that you’re coming down the street!

From the 1984 film Krush Groove, LL Cool J explains that he can't live without his radio. Neither can we, LL.

Arguably, one of the finest boomboxes of all time--Panasonic's RX-7700. Priced at a whopping $700 in 1981, this system performed as well as it looked. Features included AM/FM/SW reception, twin antennas, three meters, side handles, exceptional tuning and recording capabilities and gorgeous looks. If there were one ghetto blaster to obtain, this might be it.
